Since its inception in 1949 as the first neurosurgery clinic in Busan, BongSeng Memorial Hospital has achieved remarkable goals in many areas. We have a great pride in contributing to the progress of the local medical system based on the long history and our unique culture.
BongSeng Memorial Hospital has 56 specialists in 21 departments and 420 hospital beds. Our emergency medicine specialists provide treatment on a 24/7 basis.

Cardiovascular Center
The center operates cardiovascular radiography room equipped with the Siemens Biplane Angiography System. Also, the Dual CT and Siemens Skyra 3.0T Cardiac MRI in cardiovascular ICU, cardiac ultrasonography room, and cardiac laboratory are known for the excellent diagnostic effects on cardiovascular diseases. The Siemens symbia E gamma camera produces high-quality image when taking a photograph of heart by closing the distance between a detector and a patient by 1.1cm.

Gastroenterology Center
Four gastroenterology specialists at the Gastroenterology Center diagnose, conduct examination and surgical procedure, using endoscope for gastric disease. Kidney Transplant Center
Bongseng Memorial Hospital's Kidney Transplant Center is in an unique position with high success rate in complex surgeries such as inadequate blood transplant and positive cross reaction transplant with the largest number of surgeries in Busan and Gyeongnam. Two kidney transplant coordinators in the center offer one-to-one consultation and management service for patients.

Hemodialysis Center
BongSeng Memorial Hospital’s Hemodialysis Center has conducted 3,100 times of hemodialysis per month and is equipped with 46 hemodialysis machines (the latest model was adopted in 2012). Medical examination program
Basic Health Examination
This is basic health examination to identify the function of major organs and prevent adult diseases including cancer.
Brain Precision Health Examination
This total brain examination includes Brain MRI and Brain MRA known for its outstanding effect in early diagnosis of cerebral infarction, a brain tumor and cerebrovascular diseases.
Cardiac Precision Health Examination
This is an examination on cardiovascular system for prevention and early detection of heart diseases such as high blood pressure, cardiac infarction, angina and cardiac failure.
Examination with Innoculation
If you want to get a vaccination against cervical cancer or herpes zoster or streptococcus pneumoniae, you can also include it in your basic health examination or major cancer precision examination.
1) Preventive vaccine for cervical cancer
- Vaccine : human papilloma virus preventive vaccine (Gardasil 9)
- Target : Aged between 9~26, Male/female
- Please contact us if you are pregnant or breast-feeding or aged over 26 and have already innoculated four vaccines.
- Caution : If you have acute hypersensitive immune reaction to leaven or vaccine component or suffered from acute form of disease over severity. You may not be allowed to vaccinate depending on your physical condition on the day of inoculation or your medical history.
2) Preventive vaccine for herpes zoster
- Vaccine : Zostavax
- Target : Aged over 50

As preventing herpes zoster uses a live vaccine, those who are not allowed to a live vaccine stated below will not be innoculated.
- ⓐ A person with allergic reaction to gelatine or neomycin
- ⓑ A person with immune deficiency or a patient treated with immunosuppression including high dose of steroid
- ⓒ Active TB patient
- ⓓ Pregnant woman or woman with possibility of pregnancy or woman planning to be impregnated within 3 months.
- ⓔ A person administered a live vaccine in 1 month.
You may not be allowed to vaccinate depending on your physical condition on the day of inoculation or your medical history.
3) Preventive vaccine for streptococcus pneumoniae
- Vaccine : PCV13 (Prevenar 13)
- Target : Aged over 50
- If you have been vaccinated PPSV 23 within 1 year or plan to inoculate, you need to have consultation with us.
- Caution : If you have had serious allergic reaction to vaccine component or from your previous inoculation or suffered from acute form of disease over severity. You may not be allowed to vaccinate depending on your physical condition on the day of inoculation or your medical history.
※ If you want to inoculate, you should make an appointment.
※ Precautions for examination with innoculation
- Patient is required to fast at least for 8 hours.
- Please inform our staff of any medicine you take or any operation record in the past.
- If you have planted metallic object in your body, you are not eligible to MRI(MRA) due to magnetic force.
